Project Mentorship - 1 Session - Non Recurring
Hey! I am Nate Stephens, an Art Director at Respawn Entertainment working on Star Wars projects. Jedi: Survivor launched earlier this year, and as we gear up for our next project I have some time now finally to teach and make some tutorials. I specialize in Environment art, modeling, sculpting, materials, and lighting. I also have taught for years at the Gnomon School of Visual Effects as the instructor for the Environment for Games course, and created tutorials for the Gnomon Workshop. Previously I was Principal Artist at the Santa Monica Studio working on God of War: Ragnarok, God of War, God of War 3, and God of War 2. Other titles I have shipped include Titanfall, God of War: Ascension, and City of Heroes. In short, my job is to make game art look good, and I can help you with that.
This mentorship is for students and professionals who want to push their work to the next level, but don't want to do a recurring monthly cost. This is more flexible and we can meet when it makes sense depending on your project and time frame. Also in addition to a video call we can talk on Discord to answer smaller questions and keep things going.
This single session mentorship includes:
- 1 hour video call, with the first 15 minutes free so that we can calibrate on what you want to accomplish.
- Game Art based instruction and feedback, personalized projects to help improve your portfolio.
- Emphasis on Environment creation, modular kits, modeling, sculpting, material work, Unreal 5, and lighting.
- Portfolio reviews and planning. Do you have what you need to get where you want to go?
- Career advice from an experienced Art Director with 20+ years of AAA game art experience. But don't worry, I am not scary. I just love to help and teach.
Feel free to contact me with any questions prior to starting a mentorship so that I can understand your goals and make sure this mentorship is a good fit for your needs. Your portfolio is everything, and that is where we can work together to improve it!
